Sun Pharma files patent lawsuit against Perrigo

Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Inc. filed a lawsuit against Perrigo Co. PLC, alleging the latter's plaque psoriasis treatment would infringe on its patents.

Dublin-based Perrigo is looking to market a generic version of Sun Pharmaceutical's Ultravate lotion in the U.S., which is used to treat plaque psoriasis in patients 18 years and above.

The patent litigation was filed in the U.S. District Court for the District of Delaware and the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Michigan.

Ultravate generated about $17 million in revenues during the 12 months ended March 2018, according to IQVIA data cited by Perrigo.
