KOIKE-YA fiscal Q1 loss narrows YOY

KOIKE-YA Inc. said its normalized net income for the fiscal first quarter ended Sept. 30 came to a loss of ¥18.89 per share, compared with a loss of ¥46.62 per share in the year-earlier period.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was a loss of ¥83.9 million, compared with a loss of ¥207.0 million in the year-earlier period.

The normalized profit margin rose to negative 1.2% from negative 3.0% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue climbed year over year to ¥7.16 billion from ¥6.83 billion, and total operating expenses grew from the prior-year period to ¥7.31 billion from ¥7.14 billion.

Reported net income came to a loss of ¥58.0 million, or a loss of ¥13.06 per share, compared to a loss of ¥203.0 million, or a loss of ¥45.71 per share, in the prior-year period.

As of Nov. 14, US$1 was equivalent to ¥116.46.
