Former Manulife CEO dies

ManulifeFinancial Corp. said April 12 that Edwin Jackson, the company'sformer chairman and CEO, died.

Jackson became the company's president in 1972, a positionhe held until 1985. He was CEO from 1985 to 1987.  In addition to the presidency, Jackson alsoserved as acting board chairman from 1978 to 1985, board chairman from 1985 to1990 and vice chairman from 1990 until his retirement in 1994.
