Hess' 1st oil production vessel arrives offshore Guyana

Hess Corp.'s first oil floating, production, storage and offloading vessel Liza Destiny has arrived at the Stabroek block offshore Guyana.

The oil production vessel, which arrived from Singapore after a 42-day journey, is a component of the Liza Phase 1 development in the block. The first phase, scheduled for startup in the first quarter of 2020, would produce up to 120,000 gross barrels of oil per day.

The development also includes four undersea drill centers with 17 wells, according to an Aug. 29 news release.

Exxon Mobil Corp. subsidiary Esso Exploration and Production Guyana Ltd. operates the Stabroek block and holds a 45% interest, while Hess Guyana Exploration Ltd. and CNOOC Ltd. subsidiary CNOOC Petroleum Guyana Ltd. owns the remaining 30% and 25% interest, respectively.

Hess is and oil and gas exploration and production company with operations primarily offshore Guyana, Suriname and Canada, and in the Gulf of Mexico.
