Report: Samsung Securities buys Amazon-leased building in Prague for 180B won

Samsung Securities Co. Ltd. acquired an Inc.-leased logistics property in Prague from AEW Global Ltd. for approximately 180 billion South Korean won, Korea JoongAng Daily reported Oct. 23, citing unnamed finance industry sources.

The South Korean buyer used a combination of cash and loans from Czech lenders to finance the acquisition, the sources said.

The purchased property is Amazon's only delivery hub in the Czech Republic and is leased to the e-commerce company until 2030. Following the transaction, Samsung Securities intends to sell the facility through a planned real estate fund, which will offer an expected 9% return on investment.

As of Oct. 22, US$1 was equivalent to 1,172.08 South Korean won.
