Danakali gets mining licenses for Colluli potash project area

Danakali Ltd. on Feb. 1 said it secured mining licenses for the exploitation of mineral resources within the tenements of its Colluli potash project in Eritrea.

Colluli Mining Share Co. or CMSC, is the operator of the project, held 50/50 with the government.

CMSC received all seven mining licenses it applied for, covering 60 square kilometers of the 100-square-kilometer project area, enabling the extraction of potassium, calcium, sodium, magnesium salts and bromine.

While the definitive feasibility study has focused on a two-stage production of multinutrient sulfate of potash, Danakali sees significant growth potential for Colluli from the monetization of other salts and the diversification of potash product types.
