Google buys Chelsea Market building in NY for $2.4B

Alphabet Inc. unit Google Inc. closed its acquisition of the 1,188,501-square-foot Chelsea Market building in New York from investment and management company Jamestown for $2.4 billion.

The tech giant already occupies a significant portion of the complex. Jamestown will continue to manage the retail and food hall.

Cushman & Wakefield represented Jamestown in the transaction, and CBRE represented Google.
