Dentsu Q3 profit falls YOY

Dentsu Inc. said its third-quarter normalized net income was ¥43.55 per share, a decrease of 14.9% from ¥51.19 per share in the prior-year period.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was ¥12.28 billion, a decrease of 15.9% from ¥14.60 billion in the prior-year period.

The normalized profit margin dropped to 5.6% from 7.5% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue climbed 11.6% on an annual basis to ¥217.66 billion from ¥195.11 billion, and total operating expenses increased 17.3% year over year to ¥199.19 billion from ¥169.76 billion.

Reported net income declined 10.2% year over year to ¥13.80 billion, or ¥48.95 per share, from ¥15.37 billion, or ¥53.11 per share.

As of Nov. 14, US$1 was equivalent to ¥113.32.
