Vestas to supply turbines for wind projects in Greece, Mexico

Vestas Wind Systems A/S secured three separate turbine orders for projects totaling 310 MW in Greece and Mexico.

Volterra S.A. selected Vestas to supply 54 MW of turbines for two wind farms in Greece's Viotia region.

Under the agreement, Vestas will supply, install and commission 15 3.45-MW turbines, according to a Sept. 26 release. Turbine delivery is anticipated in the second and third quarter of 2020, with commissioning scheduled for the second half of the same year. The contracts also includes a 20-year service agreement.

The second supply contract Vestas secured was for the delivery of 88 MW of turbines with a 20-year agreement for a wind park in Greece, the buyer for which was not disclosed. Under this contract, Vestas will supply and install 21 of its 4.2-MW turbines. The turbines will be delivered during the second quarter of 2020, while the commissioning of the project is expected to happen in the second half of the same year.

Separately, Vestas announced a deal to supply 168 MW of turbines to an undisclosed party in Mexico. Under the Mexican agreement, Vestas will supply and install of 42 of its 4-MW turbines. The contract also includes a 5-year service agreement.
