Sunday Co. Ltd. said its normalized net income for the fiscal fourth quarter ended Feb. 28 came to a loss of ¥5.33 per share, compared with ¥9.81 per share in the prior-year period.
Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was a loss of ¥57.5 million, compared with income of ¥105.6 million in the year-earlier period.
The normalized profit margin dropped to negative 0.5% from 1.0% in the year-earlier period.
Total revenue decreased year over year to ¥10.66 billion from ¥11.02 billion, and total operating expenses came to ¥10.75 billion, compared with ¥10.85 billion in the prior-year period.
Reported net income rose year over year to ¥335.3 million, or ¥31.06 per share, from ¥88.4 million, or ¥8.18 per share.
For the year, the company's normalized net income totaled ¥59.87 per share, a fall of 18.6% from ¥73.59 per share in the prior year.
Normalized net income was ¥645.6 million, a fall of 18.5% from ¥792.5 million in the prior year.
Full-year total revenue totaled ¥47.13 billion, compared with ¥46.90 billion in the prior year, and total operating expenses grew year over year to ¥46.10 billion from ¥45.63 billion.
The company said reported net income grew 35.7% on an annual basis to ¥995.6 million, or ¥92.33 per share, in the full year, from ¥733.5 million, or ¥68.11 per share.
