Regnis (Lanka) Q4 profit falls YOY

Regnis (Lanka) PLC said its normalized net income for the fourth quarter was 7.34 Sri Lankan rupees per share, a decrease from 7.65 rupees per share in the prior-year period.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was 82.6 million rupees, a decline from 86.2 million rupees in the prior-year period.

The normalized profit margin dropped to 7.4% from 7.8% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue totaled 1.12 billion rupees, compared with 1.11 billion rupees in the prior-year period, and total operating expenses came to 976.2 million rupees, compared with 976.3 million rupees in the year-earlier period.

Reported net income declined on an annual basis to 99.8 million rupees, or 8.86 rupees per share, from 103.4 million rupees, or 9.18 rupees per share.

For the year, the company's normalized net income totaled 26.13 rupees per share, a gain from 25.32 rupees per share in the prior year.

Normalized net income was 294.4 million rupees, a rise from 285.3 million rupees in the prior year.

Full-year total revenue rose 15.5% from the prior-year period to 4.79 billion rupees from 4.15 billion rupees, and total operating expenses rose 16.8% year over year to 4.32 billion rupees from 3.69 billion rupees.

The company said reported net income grew on an annual basis to 350.3 million rupees, or 31.09 rupees per share, in the full year, from 344.1 million rupees, or 30.54 rupees per share.

As of March 13, US$1 was equivalent to 150.07 Sri Lankan rupees.
