Mining operations were suspended at Mandalay Resources Corp.'s Cerro Bayo silver-gold operation in Chile following flooding on the morning of June 9 at the Delia 2 ramp section of the Delia NW mine on the property.
Two employees were working in the Delia 2 ramp section at the time of the incident, the company reported, noting that rescue efforts had started immediately while impeded by the extent of flooding.
Mandalay reported the incident to the Chilean authorities and is now working closely with them to respond effectively.
