Asiamet Resources Ltd. signed a memorandum of understanding with a subsidiary of China Nonferrous Metal Mining (Group) Co. Ltd. to develop the former's Beruang Kanan Main, or BKM, copper project in central Kalimantan, Indonesia.
The company said Aug. 21 that China Nonferrous Metal Industry's Foreign Engineering and Construction Co. Ltd. will provide engineering, procurement and construction management services for the project.
Asiamet received the environmental permit for the BKM project in mid-July, which allows the company to do preconstruction and construction work, operate the mine and decommission it.
