CityFibre names nonexecutive chairman; Proximus appoints interim CEO

TOP MOVES

* Fiber network operator CityFibre Infrastructure Holdings PLC named Steve Holliday its nonexecutive chairman, effective immediately. Holliday was CEO of British utilities company National Grid PLC, according to a Sept. 17 statement.

* Belgian telecom operator Proximus named its current CFO, Sandrine Dufour, CEO ad interim, effective Sept. 21. The appointment follows the resignation of Dominique Leroy, who is leaving Proximus on Sept. 20 and will become CEO of Dutch telco KPN NV on Dec. 1.

MEDIA INDUSTRY MOVES

* TF1 Group Chairman and CEO Gilles Pélisson was appointed supervisory board chairman of Salto, a streaming joint venture between TF1, Groupe M6 and France Télévisions SA. Pélisson will serve in his role at Salto for two years, according to a Sept. 17 statement. Meanwhile, Thomas Follin, a former executive committee member at M6, will lead Salto's operational management.

* Mediengruppe RTL Deutschland GmbH will reorganize its strategy department into several sub-departments, effective Oct. 1. Under the changes, Julia Reuter will oversee the new sub-departments of corporate strategy, diversification and innovation.

* Microsoft Corp. unit Microsoft France appointed Xavier Perret as director of its Azure platform, according to a Sept. 16 news release. Perret will be responsible for deploying Azure offers in France.

COMMUNICATIONS INDUSTRY MOVES

* Deutsche Telekom AG named Michael Schuld as the new head of its TV business unit, Meedia reported Sept. 18. Schuld will be responsible for overseeing the German telecom giant's Magenta TV platform, among other tasks.

* Wireless technology company Ranplan Group AB named Jon Ullmark to the newly created role of new chief strategy officer, according to a Sept. 18 statement. Ullmark, who will also join Ranplan's senior management, is a specialist in the fields of internet of things and automation.

* Hi3G Access AB, or Tre Sverige, said Sept. 18 that it named Jim Carlberg the new head of its private customer market unit, effective in October.

* Russian fixed operator ER-Telecom JSC, working under the Dom.ru brand, appointed Victor Klishin director of its Moscow branch, Telecompaper reported Sept. 18, citing Comnews.ru. Klishin, who will replace Alexander Kimak, previously worked for VolgaTelecom, Comstar-OTS and Akado Telecom.

* Mike Muller is stepping down as ARM Holdings PLC's chief technology officer by end-September, Bloomberg News reported. Muller, who has been in the role since October 2000, is also a co-founder of the SoftBank Group Corp.-owned semiconductor company. A replacement for Muller has yet to be decided on, the report said.

* Tom Craig stepped down as executive vice president of Tele2 AB's Swedish business due to family reasons, the company said Sept. 17. Fredrik Stenberg, Tele2's executive vice president of transformation and operational excellence, will replace Craig in an acting capacity.

* Czech Republic-based internet company Seznam.cz AS appointed Dominik Kosorin as programmatic manager of the company's advertising unit, Telecompaper reported Sept. 17.

* Telecom Italia SpA named Andrea Fabiano as head of multimedia and CEO of its audiovisual content unit TIMVISION Srl, effective Sept. 16. Fabiano previously held various executive roles at Italian public broadcaster Rai.

* Greek operator OTE, which operates as Cosmote SA, named Dimitrios Georgoutsos and Vasilis Vassalos as nonexecutive directors, Telecompaper reported Sept. 12. The two appointees will replace Vasiliki Kouforizou and Panagiotis Skevofylax, who stepped down.
