Motorola Solutions buys analytics firm VaaS International for $445M

Communications equipment provider Motorola Solutions Inc. acquired data and image analytics company VaaS International Holdings Inc. for $445 million in cash and stock.

VaaS International is a "video analysis as a service" company providing vehicle location data to law enforcement agencies and commercial customers. VaaS' fixed and mobile license plate reader cameras capture and analyze license plate information.

VaaS International, based in Livermore, Calif. and Fort Worth, Texas, is expected to post about $100 million in revenues in 2019.
