Kroll affirms ratings for Atlantic Capital Bancshares, unit

Kroll Bond Rating Agency affirmed Atlantic Capital Bancshares Inc.'s senior unsecured debt rating of BBB, subordinated debt rating of BBB- and short-term debt rating of K3.

In addition, the rating agency affirmed the deposit and senior unsecured debt ratings of BBB+, subordinated debt rating of BBB, and short-term deposit and debt ratings of K2 for the company's subsidiary, Atlantic Capital Bank NA.

The outlook for all long-term ratings is stable.

Among the factors supporting the ratings are the company's experienced management team and its defensible market share in its primary operating market of Atlanta, according to Kroll. The rating agency also noted that Atlantic Capital Bancshares has historically strong asset quality metrics and abundant capital, which grew significantly following the sale of 14 Atlantic Capital Bank branches in Tennessee and northwest Georgia to Nashville, Tenn.-based FirstBank, a unit of FB Financial Corp.
