International Paper grosses $1.20 billion from debt offering

International Paper Co. raised gross proceeds of $1.20 billion from an offering of 4.400% senior unsecured notes due Aug. 15, 2047.

The company plans to use the proceeds for general corporate purposes or working capital, redemption or repayment of debt securities, and acquisitions or investments.

BBVA Securities Inc., BNP Paribas Securities Corp., Citigroup Global Markets Inc., Credit Agricole Securities (USA) Inc., Deutsche Bank Securities Inc., DNB Markets Inc., J.P. Morgan Securities LLC, Merrill Lynch Pierce Fenner & Smith Inc., Regions Securities LLC and SMBC Nikko Securities America Inc. were the lead underwriters.

BNY Mellon Capital Markets LLC, Mizuho Securities USA LLC, MUFG Securities Americas Inc., PNC Capital Markets LLC, Rabo Securities USA Inc. and U.S. Bancorp Investments Inc. also served as underwriters for the offering.
