Russian oil company PJSC Lukoil said Oct. 16 that it began the construction of infrastructure facilities at the Rakushechnoye field in the Caspian Sea.
All facilities will be built by an unnamed Russian contractor at shipbuilding yards in the Astrakhan Region for an undisclosed amount. Commercial oil production is expected to start in 2023 and has an estimated plateau level of 1.2 million tonnes.
Rakushechnoye field was discovered in 2001 and is located 100 kilometers off the west coast, 160 kilometers away from the port of Astrakhan and 8.5 kilometers from the Vladimir Filanovsky field. The field is said to contain initial recoverable reserves of 39 million tonnes of oil and around 33 billion cubic meters of gas.
