Report: Germany unloads €381M of nuclear stocks

The German government sold nearly €381 million worth of shares from its pension reserves in companies that own nuclear power plants, The Associated Press reported Oct. 1.

The transaction covers approximately €146.5 million of Enel SpA stocks, €75 million of Engie SA stocks and €159 million of Iberdrola SA stocks.

The sale is part of a 2018 agreement between the parties that make up Chancellor Angela Merkel's governing coalition in response to the 2011 Fukushima nuclear disaster. The country aims to phase out its own nuclear generation by 2022, according to the report.
