NBCU brings Sunday Night Football to mobile devices

Comcast Corp.'s NBCUniversal Media LLC secured rights from the National Football League to stream Sunday Night Football through NBC (US)' TV Everywhere offering on all mobile devices, starting with the 2018 season.

Also, NBCU will extend the authenticated streaming rights to its cable, satellite, and telco partners, as well as virtual MVPDs, according to a Dec. 18 news release. The deal also includes national advertising and local affiliate advertising.

NBC Sports Digital has been streaming Sunday Night Football to desktops, tablets, and connected TVs for years, but this will be the first time it will stream the content on mobile devices.

NBC Sports is set to broadcast and stream Super Bowl LII on Feb. 4, 2018.
