Vestas secures contracts for onshore wind, intertidal projects

Vestas Wind Systems A/S secured contracts to supply 21 MW of wind turbines for two BayWa r.e. Wind LLC projects in Australia and 53 MW of turbines for three projects in Poland, Vestas said in multiple announcements Dec. 17 and 18.

Turbine delivery for BayWa's Diapur and Ferguson wind farms in Victoria, Australia, is slated to start in the third quarter of 2020. It includes a 25-year service agreement.

Meanwhile, turbine delivery for Pacifico Group and Green Bear Cooperation Poland sp.z.o.o.'s Debowa Laka, Swiecie and 12 W wind projects in north-central Poland is scheduled to begin in the second quarter of 2020. Commissioning is expected in the fourth quarter of 2020. The contract also includes a 20-year service agreement.

Vestas also secured a contract to supply and supervise the installation of wind turbines for a 50-MW "intertidal" project in Bạc Liêu Province, Vietnam, for engineering, procurement and construction contractor Bac Phuong JSC. The project site, in the Mekong Delta, is underwater during high tide, but some of the 13 turbines will be uncovered during low tide, Vestas said.

The turbine installation is expected to be completed in the first quarter of 2021. The contract includes a 10-year service agreement.
