Nu Skin Enterprises Inc. said its normalized net income for the second quarter was 72 cents per share, compared with the S&P Capital IQ consensus estimate of 73 cents per share.
EPS climbed 19.9% year over year from 60 cents.
Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was $43.2 million, a gain of 17.2% from $36.8 million in the prior-year period.
The normalized profit margin climbed to 7.7% from 5.7% in the year-earlier period.
Total revenue fell 13.8% on an annual basis to $560.2 million from $650.0 million, and total operating expenses declined 18.0% from the prior-year period to $488.4 million from $595.3 million.
Reported net income increased from the prior-year period to $44.8 million, or 75 cents per share, from $19.6 million, or 32 cents per share.
