Whitbread PLC said its normalized net income for the fiscal first half ended Aug. 28 was 84 Great British pence per share, compared with the S&P Capital IQ consensus estimate of £1.05 per share.
EPS rose 19.3% year over year from 70 pence.
Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was £153.4 million, an increase of 20.4% from £127.3 million in the prior-year period.
Total revenue grew 13.0% on an annual basis to £1.29 billion from £1.14 billion, and total operating expenses grew 11.7% on an annual basis to £1.04 billion from £935.3 million.
Reported net income rose 7.3% year over year to £190.4 million, or £1.04 per share, from £177.5 million, or 98 pence per share.
