Report: Prague court strikes down order demanding VW to pay Czech customers

The Prague City Court nullified a lower court order that compels Volkswagen AG to pay 500 million Czech koruny to its customers affected by the Dieselgate emissions scandal, Reuters reported Oct. 3, citing Czech-language news website Idnes.

The court reportedly cited procedural grounds as the reason for the lower court ruling's invalidation. It has sent the case back to the lower court, the report said.

Volkswagen did not immediately respond to S&P Global Market Intelligence's request for comment.

As of Oct. 7, US$1 was equivalent to 23.45 Czech koruny.
