Manila Jockey Club Q2 loss widens 55.1% YOY

4988500 said its second-quarter normalized net income amounted to a loss of 10.5 million pesos, compared with a loss of 6.8 million pesos in the prior-year period.

Normalized net income excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis.

The normalized profit margin declined to negative 11.2% from negative 7.4% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue rose on an annual basis to 93.9 million pesos from 91.4 million pesos, and total operating expenses grew 7.1% from the prior-year period to 120.4 million pesos from 112.4 million pesos.

Reported net income totaled a loss of 15.7 million pesos, or a loss of 2 centavos per share, compared to a loss of 11.7 million pesos, or a loss of 1 centavos per share, in the year-earlier period.
