Copper Mountain founder retires as chairman, director

Copper Mountain Mining Corp. said Sept. 23 that founder James O'Rourke has retired as chairman and director.

Bruce Aunger, who has been a director of the company since 2011 and lead independent director since 2015, will succeed him as chairman of the board.

The changes are effective immediately.

Aunger was previously a partner and CFO of Madison Venture Corp.

In February, a new integrated mine plan for Copper Mountain's namesake copper mine in British Columbia defined an after-tax net present value, discounted at 8%, of US$619 million.
