ESPN, Verizon settle dispute over channel bundling

As expected,ESPN Inc. andVerizon Communications Inc.have resolved a legal dispute over channel bundling, according to a May 10 poston ESPNMediaZone.

Financial terms of the settlement remain confidential andwill not be disclosed.

ESPN (US)had sued Verizon over FiOS' new "CustomTV" plan that excluded ESPN from its basic package, requiringsubscribers to purchase the channel in a different package.The case was filed in April 2015 in the Supreme Court of the State of New York.

ESPN is owned by WaltDisney Co. and HearstCorp.
