Kajima fiscal Q3 profit climbs YOY

Kajima Corp. said its normalized net income for the fiscal third quarter ended Dec. 31, 2016, came to ¥18.94 per share, an increase from ¥18.30 per share in the year-earlier period.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was ¥19.66 billion, a gain from ¥19.00 billion in the prior-year period.

The normalized profit margin increased to 4.6% from 4.3% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue fell year over year to ¥424.07 billion from ¥442.01 billion, and total operating expenses decreased from the prior-year period to ¥396.45 billion from ¥414.84 billion.

Reported net income fell 20.1% from the prior-year period to ¥20.62 billion, or ¥19.86 per share, from ¥25.82 billion, or ¥24.87 per share.

As of Feb. 9, US$1 was equivalent to ¥113.09.
