Panthera secures 3-year Kalaka gold exploration license in Mali

Panthera Resources PLC secured a new exploration license, extending the tenure of its Kalaka gold license in Mali for an initial three years starting Dec. 31, 2018, with two possible two-year extensions.

The company said Jan. 14 that recent work in the license area identified a large geophysical anomaly, and the highest magnitude part of the anomaly trends away from areas of previous exploration, which has not been tested by deep drilling and is seen as a good target for higher-grade mineralization.

Managing Director Geoff Stanley said the company plans to test this anomaly with deep drilling as soon as practical.

Separately, Panthera said that in relation to a recently filed writ petition for the government's rejection of a prospecting license for the Bhukia gold-copper project in India, the government's response was due within four weeks of a Sept. 26, 2018, court hearing, where a stay protection was granted. However, it expects further delays due to a change of administration.
