Stanmore granted Isaac Plains East coal mining leases; production to start Q1'19

Stanmore Coal Ltd. was granted the Isaac Plains East coal mining leases and Commonwealth EPBC approvals, extending the mine life of the Isaac Plains Complex in Queensland, Australia, by about 7 years.

The Isaac Plains East deposit hosts JORC run-of-mine reserves of 11.1 million tonnes, which will be processed at the existing coal handling and preparation plant and utilizing the rain load out infrastructure at Isaac Plains.

Output from Isaac Plains East is now expected to start by early first quarter of 2019, compared to the previous estimate of 2018's fourth quarter, as the company plans to boost production in 2019 by 50% to 1.8 million tonnes of product, it said March 5.
