Walliser Kantonalbank proposes 5% dividend rise

Walliser Kantonalbank said it would pay shareholders a dividend of CHF3.15 a share for 2017, a rise of 5% year over year.

The bank, based in the Swiss city of Sion, reported an 11.3% rise in annual profit, to CHF64 million, and expects its 2018 results to be similar to those of 2017, given an uncertain economic environment. Gross income from interest operations increased by 0.7% to CHF162.6 million.

Walliser Kantonalbank is known in French as Banque Cantonale du Valais.
