CFPB requests feedback on administrative adjudication process

The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau has sent out its second request for information, this time regarding administrative adjudications.

Noting its process "can result in undue burdens," the regulator asks "[w]hether, as a matter of policy, the Bureau should pursue contested matters only in Federal court." And if it should pursue administrative adjudications, the CFPB asks how its rules can be updated to be better aligned with other agencies', among other concerns.

The request comes on the heels of a request regarding civil investigative demands and pursuant to a broader "call for evidence." Its next request for information will be on enforcement processes.
