Power
* FuelCell Energy Inc. on Sept. 12 appointed Jennifer Arasimowicz its new chief administrative officer. Arasimowicz will continue to serve as the company's general counsel, corporate secretary and executive vice president. She joined FuelCell Energy in 2012 and most recently served as chief commercial officer of the company. FuelCell Energy President and CEO Jason Few replaced Arasimowicz as chief commercial officer, effective Sept. 12.
* Southern Co. subsidiary Georgia Power Co. appointed Kelly Loeffler to be its new board member, effective Oct. 1. Loeffler is CEO of Atlanta-headquartered BAKKT LLC, a subsidiary of the Intercontinental Exchange Inc., according to a Sept. 12 news release.
* Mads Miltersen is joining EnBW Sverige AB as CEO on Oct. 1, the company announced Sept. 10. Miltersen most recently served as CEO of Rabbelshedekraft AB, a company specializing in the development and operation of wind projects. EnBW Sverige is the Swedish subsidiary of German energy company EnBW Energie Baden-Württemberg AG.
* Kenneth Liang resigned from the boards of PG&E Corp. and its utility subsidiary Pacific Gas and Electric Co. The companies said in a Sept. 9 filing that the resignation, which is effective immediately, does not involve any disagreement related to the operations, policies or practices of PG&E Corp. or the utility. Separately, Pacific Gas and Electric named Andrew Vesey board director and member of the executive committee of the board. Vesey is CEO and president of the utility.
* Sodexo SA named Eduard Erbiceanu global head of energy for Sodexo Energy & Resources Worldwide, effective Sept. 1. Erbiceanu recently was senior vice president of global strategic planning for Sodexo's Energy & Resources business.
Oil and gas utility/midstream
* Brian Rich resigned as CNX Midstream GP LLC's chief accounting officer, effective Sept. 20, according to a Sept. 12 securities filing. Jason Mumford, who has been CNX Resources Corp.'s chief accounting officer since 2017, was named principal accounting officer of the general partner. CNX Midstream GP is the general partner of CNX Midstream Partners LP, a limited partnership sponsored by CNX Resources.
* Houston-based Alta Mesa Resources Inc. has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy and revamped its leadership team, the company announced Sept. 12. Jim Hackett, who had been serving as the company's interim CEO, returned to his former post as executive chairman, while Interim Executive Vice President for Strategy Mark Castiglione was promoted to CEO. Former Interim President Randy Limbacher will take over as executive vice president, while former Interim COO John Campbell will become president and COO.
* Industrial conglomerate General Electric Co.'s sale of shares in oilfield services provider Baker Hughes a GE company for $2.47 billion in proceeds would cut the number of Baker Hughes board members GE is allowed to designate to one, from five. GE informed Baker Hughes that John Rice would remain on the Baker Hughes board as its designee. Lorenzo Simonelli and W. Geoffrey Beattie would also remain as board directors, but not as GE designees. Jamie Miller and James Mulva would resign from the board.
* Northern Oil & Gas Inc. named CFO Nicholas O'Grady as president, replacing founder Michael Reger, who stepped down in August to pursue other opportunities. O'Grady, who has been part of the energy company since June 2018, will remain CFO, according to a Sept. 10 news release.
* Luxembourg-based offshore oilfield services company Subsea 7 SA announced the retirement of CEO Jean Cahuzac at the end of the year. He will be replaced by COO John Evans on Jan. 1, 2020. Cahuzac will serve as a nonexecutive director following his retirement. Cahuzac has served as CEO of the company since 2008, while Evans has been COO since 2005.
* Encana Corp. promoted Executive Vice President and COO Michael McAllister to president. The oil and gas producer also appointed Greg Givens COO and Brendan McCracken executive vice president for corporate development and external relations, according to a Sept. 10 news release. Givens was previously vice president and general manager of Encana's Texas operations. McCracken most recently served as vice president and general manager of the producer's Canadian operations. All changes will take effect immediately.
* Brian Melton decided to step down as chief commercial officer of Blueknight Energy Partners GP LLC, the general partner of Blueknight Energy Partners LP, and accept a position with another company. The resignation will take effect Sept. 20, according to a Sept. 9 news release. Following Melton's resignation, CEO Mark Hurley will oversee the general partner's commercial function.
* Independent oil and gas company Penn Virginia Corp. on Sept. 3 increased the size of its board to seven members and elected Tiffany Thom Cepak and Jeffrey Wojahn as independent directors to fill the vacancies, effectively immediately. Cepak was CFO of Energy XXI Gulf Coast Inc., while Wojahn was executive vice president of Encana, according to a Sept. 6 securities filing.
* Louis John Schaufele IV stepped down as EMG I NGL Holdings LLC-designated director at the board of NGL Energy Holdings LLC, the general partner of NGL Energy Partners LP. The resignation, effective immediately, came after NGL Energy Partners bought a 5.73% stake in the general partner from EMG I NGL for $11.5 million in cash, according to a Sept. 6 SEC filing.
Coal
* Emily Medine joined the Contura Energy Inc. board on Sept. 10. Medine currently serves as a principal in the coal practice for Energy Ventures Analysis Inc.
