Charoen Pokphand Foods profit beats consensus by 25.8% in Q3

Charoen Pokphand Foods Public Company Ltd said its third-quarter normalized net income amounted to 21 satang per share, compared with the S&P Capital IQ consensus estimate of 17 satang per share.

EPS decreased 12.4% year over year from 24 satang.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was 1.58 billion baht, a decrease of 12.4% from 1.80 billion baht in the prior-year period.

The normalized profit margin declined to 1.4% from 1.6% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue totaled 112.31 billion baht, compared with 112.84 billion baht in the prior-year period, and total operating expenses totaled 107.00 billion baht, compared with 107.31 billion baht in the prior-year period.

Reported net income declined 14.1% from the prior-year period to 3.57 billion baht, or 48 satang per share, from 4.16 billion baht, or 56 satang per share.

As of Nov. 12, US$1 was equivalent to 35.85 baht.
