Beijing Digital Telecom H2 profit falls YOY

Beijing Digital Telecom Co. Ltd. said its second-half normalized net income came to 23 fen per share, compared with 23 fen per share in the year-earlier period.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was 155.0 million yuan, compared with 156.5 million yuan in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue declined 7.8% year over year to 7.62 billion yuan from 8.27 billion yuan, and total operating expenses declined 8.0% on an annual basis to 7.33 billion yuan from 7.97 billion yuan.

Reported net income declined from the prior-year period to 200.7 million yuan, or 30 fen per share, from 204.0 million yuan, or 31 fen per share.

For the year, the company's normalized net income totaled 41 fen per share, a gain from 40 fen per share in the prior year.

Normalized net income was 275.3 million yuan, a gain from 269.3 million yuan in the prior year.

Full-year total revenue fell on an annual basis to 15.18 billion yuan from 15.83 billion yuan, and total operating expenses declined year over year to 14.71 billion yuan from 15.32 billion yuan.

The company said reported net income came to 356.4 million yuan, or 53 fen per share, in the full year, compared with 357.1 million yuan, or 54 fen per share, the prior year.

As of April 20, US$1 was equivalent to 6.88 yuan.
