BayWa sells 94.6-MW wind farm in Sweden to SUSI Partners

BayWa r.e. renewable energy GmbH has sold its 94.6-MW Lyngsåsa wind project in Kronoberg County, Sweden, to sustainable infrastructure investor SUSI Partners AG for undisclosed terms.

"It is ... our first investment in the attractive Swedish wind market and completes our Nordic wind portfolio for our second renewables fund," SUSI Partners Chief Investment Officer Marco van Daele said in a Sept. 5 statement. SUSI Partners secured a long-term, fixed power purchase agreement and arranged debt financing for the project with Hamburg Commercial Bank.

Under the deal, the BayWa AG subsidiary will manage the full engineering, procurement and construction process for the wind farm. BayWa r.e. has placed an order for 22 Vestas Wind Systems A/S V150 4.2-MW turbines.

Turbine delivery is scheduled in the first quarter of 2021. Commissioning of the wind project is expected to start in the second quarter of the same year.
