Concho Resources names new COO, CFO

Concho Resources Inc. made several changes to its management team, including the promotion of two of executives to the C-suite.

The Permian Basin-focused oil and gas producer promoted Will Giraud to executive vice president and COO, according to a Jan. 3 news release. Giraud replaced Joe Wright, who retired from the executive team and is on Concho's board. Giraud previously served as executive vice president, in charge of Concho's asset teams, business development and strategy.

Brenda Schroer was named senior vice president, CFO and treasurer, effective immediately. Schroer is assuming the role form Jack Harper, who will continue as Concho's president. Before the promotion, Schroer served as senior vice president, chief accounting officer and treasurer.

Concho also appointed Price Moncrief senior vice president of corporate development and midstream. His previous position was senior vice president of finance and strategy. Other newly appointed senior vice presidents are Clay Bateman, senior vice president of assets; Keith Corbett, senior vice president of corporate engineering and planning; and Scott Kidwell, senior vice president of administration.

Senior Vice President of Business Operations and Engineering Steve Guthrie plans to retire at the end of 2019 and will serve as special adviser to Concho until then.

Concho also named Jeff Gasch vice president of Delaware Basin, Jacob Gobar vice president and chief accounting officer, Aaron Hunter vice president of Midland Basin, and Jere Thompson vice president of planning.
