Huawei Technologies Co. Ltd. is investing about €70 million into Ireland for research and development in the country's telecom sector in the next three years, China Daily reported.
The Chinese company will focus on investments in video, cloud computing, artificial intelligence and site-reliability engineering projects.
About 100 researchers and engineers in Ireland will work on projects related to these areas.
Huawei has also transferred its mobile software services business unit from China's Shenzhen to a Dublin-based subsidiary, Aspiegel Ltd.
Huawei also has offices in Ireland's Cork and Athlone.
