US homebuilder shorts rise in November 1st half

Average short interest among U.S. homebuilders increased 47 basis points to 6.12% of outstanding shares between Oct. 31 and Nov. 15.

Lennar Corp. saw the largest rise in short interest relative to shares outstanding among SNL-covered homebuilders. The company saw short interest increase 322 basis points to 6.27% of shares outstanding at the end of the period.

TRI Pointe Group Inc. had the greatest decrease in short interest relative to shares outstanding among SNL-covered homebuilders. The company saw short interest drop 116 basis points to 11.68% of shares outstanding at the end of the period.

LGI Homes Inc. topped the list of most-shorted homebuilders between Oct. 31 and Nov. 15. The company saw short interest climb 167 basis points to 22.96% of shares outstanding.
