Md. governor signs bill banning fracking in state

Maryland Gov. Larry Hogan on April 4 signed HB 1325, a bill that bans hydraulic fracturing in the state. He had earlier signaled his intent to sign the bill should it reach his desk.

The state's House of Delegates passed the bill March 10 by a wide margin, and the Senate passed the bill March 27.

Maryland now joins New York and Vermont as the only three states to ban fracking.
