Natural Health Trends Corp. said its normalized net income for the fourth quarter amounted to 72 cents per share, a gain from 29 cents per share in the year-earlier period.
Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was $8.7 million, a gain from $3.7 million in the year-earlier period.
The normalized profit margin rose to 11.8% from 10.5% in the year-earlier period.
Total revenue rose year over year to $73.7 million from $35.4 million, and total operating expenses climbed on an annual basis to $59.8 million from $29.3 million.
Reported net income rose from the prior-year period to $13.7 million, or $1.12 per share, from $5.8 million, or 45 cents per share.
For the year, the company's normalized net income totaled $2.41 per share, a gain from $1.02 per share in the prior year.
Normalized net income was $29.9 million, a gain from $12.9 million in the prior year.
Full-year total revenue increased from the prior-year period to $264.9 million from $124.6 million, and total operating expenses grew 109.1% on an annual basis to $217.0 million from $103.8 million.
The company said reported net income increased on an annual basis to $47.3 million, or $3.82 per share, in the full year, from $20.2 million, or $1.61 per share.
