TOP MOVES
* Edith Hlawati has been appointed the new chairwoman of the supervisory board of Telekom Austria Group, while Bettina Glatz-Kremsner and Daniela Lecuona Torras have been selected as new members of the board, the company announced May 30. Telekom Austria is a unit of América Móvil SAB de CV.
* Katarzyna Iwuc has stepped down as CEO and director general of Polish operator Netia SA, Telecompaper reported May 21, citing a statement. Stefan Radziminski has also resigned as Netia's chief technology officer. Supervisory board member Wojciech Pytel will take over as CEO for an interim basis until Aug. 18, while Grzegorz Bartler was named a new member of the supervisory board.
MEDIA INDUSTRY MOVES
* Modern Times Group said May 29 that it named its chief strategy officer, Gabriel Catrina, as Nordic Entertainment Group's new executive vice president and group CFO. Catrina will also head NENT's M&A unit. The appointment takes effect July 1.
* Xavier Domino has been appointed secretary general of Radio France, succeeding Maïa Wirgin. Responsible for institutional and international relations, legal affairs, purchasing, internal audit and control, defense, personal data, archives and the Radio France Museum, Domino takes up his duties June 4.
* William Valkenburg has started at his position as channel manager at VPRO, specifically at the public broadcaster's website vpro.nl, Villamedia reported May 29. Valkenburg earlier held positions at RNW Media and NPO.
* RTL Nederland's former program director, Erland Galjaard, will continue his career at John de Mol's media company Talpa BV, Spreekbuis reported May 28, quoting sources. Conflict of interests reportedly held Galjaard from starting at Talpa before.
* Frederic Huwendiek is the new head of online news at German public broadcaster ZDF (DE). Effective from Aug. 1, Huwendiek will replace Michael Bartsch who moves on to lead the ZDF editorial board for economy, law, service, social affairs and the environment.
* Martin Kyncl is joining Czech broadcaster TV Nova Group as its vice president of digital advertising, Broadband TV News reported May 23. Kyncl has worked in online advertising and served Publicis as digital planner and head of digital.
* ITV Studios Ltd. unit Shiver has appointed Aidan Hansell as head of development, TBI Vision reported May 22. Hansell, who will lead a new team in London and Manchester, will report directly to Shiver Creative Director Ana De Moraes. ITV Studios is a unit of ITV PLC.
