T-Mobile US Inc. hired lobbying firm Turnberry Solutions LLC for advice on its proposed $26 billion merger with Sprint Corp., Reuters reported May 26, citing lobbying disclosure reports and company statements.
Turnberry, composed of several members of President Donald Trump's election team including his former campaign manager Corey Lewandowski, was hired in August 2017, around the time it was reported that merger talks between the two wireless companies restarted. T-Mobile has paid $100,000 to the firm since September 2017 for perspective on "a variety of topics," which includes the merger, Reuters added.
Lewandowski did not respond to the news outlet for a comment.
When the proposal was announced in April, T-Mobile said PJT Partners, Goldman Sachs, Deutsche Bank are its financial advisers. Wachtell Lipton Rosen & Katz is providing legal counsel, with Cleary Gottlieb and DLA Piper serving as regulatory counsel.
