Post Holdings profit misses consensus by 82.9% in fiscal Q3

Post Holdings Inc. said its normalized net income for the fiscal third quarter ended June 30 amounted to 8 cents per share, compared with the S&P Capital IQ consensus estimate of 48 cents per share.

EPS decreased 89.9% year over year from 81 cents.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was $5.7 million, a decrease of 88.5% from $49.5 million in the year-earlier period.

The normalized profit margin dropped to 1.0% from 4.1% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue climbed year over year to $1.25 billion from $1.21 billion, and total operating expenses decreased on an annual basis to $1.10 billion from $1.11 billion.
