Brazil confirms Campos Neto's advisory role in Economy Ministry

Banco Santander (Brasil) SA executive Roberto Campos Neto will serve as an adviser to finance minister Paulo Guedes while his nomination to lead Banco Central do Brasil awaits Senate approval, the government confirmed in its Jan. 11 official gazette.

The temporary role had been reported earlier by local media.

According to Valor Econômico, Campos Neto's adviser role will allow him to attend meetings and take part in committees within the Economy Ministry.

Brazil's senate is expected to confirm Campos Neto's central bank appointment in February or March.
