Entergy unveils $100M power grid upgrade project in Louisiana

Entergy Louisiana LLC plans to invest $100 million in strengthening its electric infrastructure in the Jefferson Davis Parish area, La., according to a Dec. 4 release.

The upgrade entails building and replacing approximately 58 miles of lines using high-voltage wire. The hub of the project will center around the new Henning substation. "The project will enhance reliability, increase transmission capacity and help ensure the availability of affordable power now and into the future for the parish," the company said.

The Entergy Corp. subsidiary expects to start construction in January 2018 and complete the project by February 2020.
