Vast records 249% increase in Manaila's indicated, inferred underground resource

Vast Resources PLC said March 26 that the updated indicated and inferred resource estimate at the Manaila copper-lead-zinc-silver-gold mine in Romania recorded 78% and 249% increases in the open pit and underground resources, respectively.

The indicated and inferred open pit resource now stands at 4.6 million tonnes grading 0.97% copper, 0.32% lead, 0.68% zinc, 25.8 g/t of silver and 0.23 g/t of gold at a 0.25% copper cutoff.

The indicated and inferred underground resource was updated to 1.1 million tonnes grading 1.58% copper, 0.82% lead, 0.88% zinc, 14.6 g/t of silver and 0.15 g/t of gold at a 1.00% copper cutoff.

The updated resource was compiled following the completion of 19 surface diamond drillholes in 2017. Manaila now has an implied mine life of over 11 years, based on the increased resource and using a throughput rate of 30,000 tonnes per month.
