Coal India to offer lower coal volume in spot, forward auctions in 2019

Coal India Ltd. will offer less coal in spot and forward auction markets in 2019, The Economic Times reported May 30.

The company aims to offer between 60 million and 70 million tonnes of coal this year, decreasing slightly from 76.4 Mt in 2018, which comprised 49.3 Mt through spot auctions and 27.1 Mt through the forward auction market.

For 2019, Coal India will also offer an additional 70 Mt to 80 Mt of long-term supply contracts through auctions to the nonpower sector.
