Report: L&G will begin search for investment unit CEO's replacement in H2

Legal & General Group PLC will begin the search for Mark Zinkula's replacement as CEO of Legal & General Investment Management Ltd. at the end of summer when it will hire an external headhunter, people familiar with the matter told the Financial Times.

However, several internal candidates have emerged, the newspaper said. LGIM's head of distribution for Europe, the Middle East and Africa and executive committee member Sarah Aitken and head of defined contribution solutions Emma Douglas are two of the strongest candidates tipped to succeed Zinkula, when he retires Aug. 31, 2019, according to the sources.

Mark Johnson, who serves as LGIM's head of institutional client management, reporting to Aitken, and Aaron Meder, who heads LGIM America, are also contenders for the post, the sources added.
