Wise Equity exits Italian glass door fittings maker Colcom

Italy-focused private equity firm Wise Equity SGR sold Colcom Group SpA to Simonswerk GmbH.

Colcom, which was bought by Wise in 2014, is an Italian producer of glass door hinges and fittings. It will continue to be led by Gabriele Basile as CEO. In 2017, Colcom acquired France-based Sadev Architectural Glass Systems, which makes external fixing systems, structural façades and balustrades, to expand its product range.

Simonswerk is a German supplier of door hinges and hinge systems. It recently bought a majority stake in Anselmi & C Srl, which makes concealed hinges for lightweight doors.

Simmons & Simmons served as legal adviser to Wise, and Spada Partners was its tax adviser. ONEtoONE Corporate Finance, Linklaters, EY, Chair of Machine Tools (WZL, RWTH Aachen) and Arcadis provided advice to Simonswerk.
